August 25, 2017, NY, NY – HAF and its affiliates – The Latino Pride Center (LPC) and Queens Pride House (QPH) – announce the availability of several full-time positions. These positions respond to the growing needs presented by the LGBT community for culturally and linguistically competent health and human services. LPC and QPH are seeking fresh talent and highly motivated career-oriented professionals who possess the competencies and commitment to actively participate in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of new programs and the expansion services that support our vision of a “healthier” LGBT community.
HAF is a New York City based Latino-run organization fully devoted to improving health outcomes for Latinos in New York City who are affected by chronic illnesses. We serve thousands of NYC Latinos and non-Latinos annually through outreach; health and wellness promotion; homelessness prevention; entitlements advocacy; wellness support; emotional support, couples and family counseling; and other supportive services. HAF’s constituents are predominantly members of the LBGT community, immigrants and other marginalized communities.
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS (1 FTE) – The incumbent develops and implements strategies to systematize program implementation methodologies designed to maximize program and human resources in the offer of quality services. As such, s/he is responsible for program development activities, including but not limited to contracting and grant writing; program design, implementation and evaluation; staff support and training; and consumer relations.
The ideal candidate shall possess a Ph.D. in Behavioral Psychology. Doctoral Degree may be substituted with a Master’s Degree in Social Work / or Psychology and be licensed to practice as clinician in New York State, plus 8 years related administrative work experience; human resources management; program design, implementation, and evaluation; and, consumer relations.
Salary Range: $80K – $95K
SOCIAL WORKER III (2 FTE) – The incumbent is responsible for providing individual, group couples and / or family psycho-educational support counseling. Develops, coordinates and conducts educational workshops / seminars aimed at building self-care skills and strategies among her / his clientele.
Master’s in Social Work or related field is required, in addition to 3 years’ experience providing supportive counseling services to LGBT individuals, couples, families and groups. Experience in providing clinical services a plus. Candidates must be LMSW’s or meet criteria for licensing in New York State.
Salary Range: $40K – $55K
SOCIAL WORKER II (2 FTE) – The incumbent is responsible for providing generic social services to persons living or at risk of contracting a chronic illness, and their collateral’s, including intake and assessment, case planning, coordination of services and referrals to other HAF programs and outside resources ensuring the procurement of the full array of social, medical, financial resources necessary to manage living with HIV more effectively. Additionally, the incumbent co-facilitates psycho-educational support groups and conducts group presentations.
Candidates for the positions shall possess a BA in Social Work or related field plus 2 years’ experience providing generic social services, including guidance, to persons living or at risk of contracting a chronic illness, and experience at implementing housing subsidy programs, extensive knowledge of housing laws in NYC and HUD guidelines.
Salary Range: $38K – $48K
SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST (1 FTE) – The Incumbent is responsible for building and executing social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, bench-marking, messaging and audience identification targeted to the LGBT community. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, generating, editing, publishing and sharing daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action. Creates editorial calendars, and moderates all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community.
Candidates for this position shall possess a BS in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations, 2+ years of experience in social media or related field, excellent consulting, writing, presentation and communication skills, and editing (photo/video/text) experience highly desirable.
Salary Range: $39K – $47K

Bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-cultural competencies; certification as an HIV Counselor a must within 90 days of hire. As a representative of the Institution, the incumbent must be able to synthesize and translate HAF’s vision, mission, and services for the public consumption. Flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional out of state travel.
