Stop by to use our computer lab, hang out in the lounge, use our lending library, or get a health referral.

Overview of Main Services
 
Drop-in Center
During open hours you can use any of our resources, including our computer lab with Internet access & free wifi, our lounge with cable TV, and our LGBTQ-focused lending library. You can browse our bulletin boards and pick up educational materials from many local organizations. In addition, you can obtain health and social service referrals from our multi-lingual staff.
 
Health & Social Services Information & Referral Program
Multi-lingual Queens Pride House staff are available to answer LGBTQ health, social, and life-related questions and provide referrals to appropriate services across NYC.  Drop-in, call us at 718-429-5309, or send us an email at qphinfo@queenspridehouse.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
 
Support Groups
We offer a variety of support and social groups, including many in collaboration with other organizations. Among the ongoing support groups are:
  • Charla! Latina Lesbian Support Group (in Spanish): Bi-weekly discussion group in partnership with Las Buenas Amigas.
  • Transgender Empowerment Group (in English) Bi-monthly group focused on the  needs and concerns of transgender residents of Queens.
  • TransLatina (en español): Grupo de apoyo para mujeres transgénero
  • Urban Queering: Weekly leadership meeting for LGBTQ youth under 24 years of age.
  • Men's Support Group (in Spanish): Bi-weekly support & discussion group for Spanish-speaking gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning men.
  • Men's Support Group (in English): Bi-weekly support & discussion group for Spanish-speaking gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning men.

Social & Cultural Programs

  • Monthly Potluck Dinner Once a month, the QPH Men's Group hosts a free Potluck Dinner, where each person brings a dish of food to be shared among the group. Bring your favorite dish, snack or drink to share!
  • Queens Queer Cultural Festival Each spring, QPH curates a free weeklong Cultural Festival that focuses on queer artists and their contributions to art and different communities. Each evening of the QQCF is different and past events have included: art exhibits & receptions, cabaret night, lesbian erotica night, SAGE on STAGE community theater, Make-Your-Own Art night, and performances from a variety of community groups.

 

Outreach & Education

 

  • Community Outreach: QPH continually visits local businesses, social service organizations, and gay bars in Queens to distribute information about our programs and services, health-related information, condoms, and to provide on the spot health referrals. [Map of where we go]
  • Community Education: Queens Pride House staff regularly conduct anti-homophobia and LGBT 101 trainings for local area schools and community centers.  These workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your group or program.  Please contact QPH staff at info@queenspridehouse.org or call 718-429-5309 for more information about our trainings and how to schedule one for your program.
  • Health Workshops & Brunches: Partnering with LGBT organizations around the borough and the city at large, QPH coordinates and hosts health brunches or workshops. The topics for each event vary and target different audiences. Past topics have included: Breast & Cervical Cancer Prevention (in English & Bengali), Eroticizing Consent (in English), and Preventing Domestic Violence (in English & Spanish), as well as events in response to hate crimes committed against our community. Queens Pride House also organizes a monthly Service Provider brunch designed to increase cultural competency amongst healthcare providers within the borough.
